Power BI Desktop - June 2023 "Feature requires a restart"

Hi, I'm having a lot of trouble with the new June 2023 PBI desktop app. I've been connecting to live PBI datasets in my premium instance for over a year and now I can't for some reason.

When I start it, I get prompted with this message. It doesn't matter if I restart and I get the same message every time:

I can click OK to get rid of that, but I can't connect to my live PBI datasets in the service. I get this message.

I can't paste the entire detail log, but here is the first part.

HI , @buddyfacility

Based on my internal query and research in the internal issue website that records the Power BI known issues, this is a known issue that posted in 2023/6/1, and the issue seems related to the Power BI desktop version May and June, the expected fixing date of this issue is later than 2023/6/29.

In addition, here you describe that after you connected to your dataset, a 404 error occurred. If your previous version can run normally, are you a Power BI user of Global Cloud? Is there no problem with the previous version of Desktop?

So would you like to first consider using the April version of Power BI desktop as the work around and update the desktop version in July to check if the issue is fixed at that time?

Here is the download link you can refer to :

Thank you for your time and sharing, and thank you for your support and understanding of PowerBI!

Hi Microsoft Support,

Is there an ETA for this? I am facing the same issue. April version works.

Thank you so much. I uninstalled June and re-installed April and I'm back up and running.
