Power BI Desktop Installation Fails

I am having no luck installing the latest version of Power BI Desktop.

I have downloaded PBIDesktopSetup_x64.exe from the appropriate MS Website.  When I attempt to run it, nothing happens.

Ithe cursor changes to the busy icon for a couple of seconds, and then stops, and I'm back to the normal cursor.

What I have tried:

Redownloading the file (twice).

Restarting the PC.

Running it with Admin Privs.

Making sure I have .Net 4.8 Advanced Services Installed and active.

Running it from the command line with a  -log "pbinstalllog.txt" flag.  (Not only did this not help, it didn't even create a log file that I could find.)

Downloading it from the MS Store.  (It downloaded, but then died during installation with an "unexpected error").

I'm at my wits end.  

Please help!
