Power BI Desktop Hangs and mostly won't load anything or open

I've been running PBI Desktop for about a year without any problems. I did the July update and a Windows update at about the same time. Ever since then, Power BI takes a long while to load. Hangs on "Initializing model" for 3 minutes. When I select a recent file, it is slow to load that as well. And I can't really navigate through the pages. And it won't let me X out to close. I have to force close.  I read somewhere that someone had to reinstall the OS. I really don't want to do that if I don't have to.

Firstly, you could install earlier Power BI desktop version and check if this issue persists or not. If the issue persists, then the issue is caused by you OS, I am afraid you need to reinstall the OS.

Cutrrently, a know issue is that some users cannot opent Power BI desktop. If your issue disappear in eariler version, and you do not need to use the new feature in July Power BI version, you could that version temporarily.
