Hi all.
I have a dashboard I have developed with some metrics that sits on top of postgresql, but for some reason will not refresh. I looked around and relized that the credentials for the database had since been changed. I deleted the old credentials and updated them hoping this would fix the refresh problem....it did not. I am wondering what the minimum role requirement is of the postgres user? Right now the user has createDB access. Could this be the issue? It seems like a permissions issue.
What else would cause Power BI not to refresh to the current state of the DB?
Cheers.
Hi @Anonymous,
I'd like to suggest you use edit permission credentials and try again.
Power bi not contains any write back features, but sometime you had to use edit permission credentials to get fully support.

Hi @Anonymous,
Sorry I wasn't clear. So the user has a createDB role but has all permissions granted to that user ie (insert,read,write,tuncate,..ect).
Should I define a user with superuser access, that seems like it shouldn't be necessary? I created a new superuser with all permissions and new login information, but power bi can not authenticate the user...why?
Cheers.
Hi @Anonymous,
I'd like to suggest you to create new pbix file to test new credentials, it seems like logged credentials conflict with new one.
Please clean up these cached credentials and test with new pbix file.
