Hi , I have recently swithced on the Dark Mode Preview. I have found that whenever I apply the Dark/Light mode preview, the abilty to use the Date functions such as subtraction are disabled from the ribbon in Power Query. I have uninstalled & reinstalled with the same out come. As soon as I go back to the default mode evrything works OK
Has anyone else suffered the same issue?
Regards, NGC
Thanks Leroy Lu, but that is not my issue. It is with the built-in ribbon feature. I am using the latest version of Power BI Desktop

Hi, @NGC48
Thank you for your prompt reply.
1.Firstly, I need to inform you that there was another version update just yesterday. Here is the link to the latest version:
Download Microsoft Power BI Desktop from Official Microsoft Download Center
2.Secondly, to be honest, I encountered your issue during my testing for a period of time: after selecting multiple time-type columns in Power Query, the functionality of the date function was not displaying. However, after further testing, this issue seemed to resolve itself.
Therefore, I would appreciate your assistance in conducting the following checks in dark mode:
Create multiple time-type columns and select them multiple times to see if the date function consistently fails to display.
Test other PBIX files to determine if the same issue occurs.
Check if clicking on a single time column displays correctly; if it does, this could serve as a workaround.
I hope you can assist with these tests when you have the time, as my testing indicated that this might be a temporary issue, which could have been fully resolved in the latest version. However, if the problem persists, we will need to investigate further.
3.Finally, if issues remain after your testing, please feel free to share your feedback using the link provided below.
Best Regards,
Leroy Lu

Hi, @NGC48
I can understand your frustration; however, I haven't encountered any issues in my current tests. Here’s my testing process:
My sample data is as follows:
1.Firstly, I used a custom column in Power Query to subtract two time columns.
2.Secondly, I employed a custom date subtraction function.
let
DateDifference = (startDate as date, endDate as date) =>
Duration.Days(endDate - startDate)
in
DateDifference
Then, I used this date function to perform the subtraction.
3.Thirdly, I created a new query for date subtraction directly.
4.My current version is as follows:
We cannot rule out the possibility of a version issue, so I recommend upgrading your version according to your needs. Here’s the download link:
Download Microsoft Power BI Desktop from Official Microsoft Download Center
Of course, if I have misunderstood the date subtraction function you mentioned, please feel free to correct me.
I look forward to your reply.
Please find the attached pbix relevant to the case.
Best Regards,
Leroy Lu
