Power BI Desktop Class Not Registered Error

Hi,

I just downloaded Power BI Desktop from Microsoft Store - version 2.88.802.0 64-bit (December 2020).

When I connect to any Excel data source (.xlsx) and try to apply changes, I receive error "Class not registered".

Please help! If anyone has downloaded the latest Power BI too and have the same error?

Try downloading one of the old versions worked for me - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/fundamentals/desktop-latest-update-archive

You may try downloading the latest version Power BI Desktop executable from the  Download Center  to see if it works.

Thanks Allan, the latest version in Download Centre didn't work but I got passed the error by downloading an old version, specifically the March 2020 version I had saved on my PC previously.

@Anonymous , Have installed from Windows Store or You downloaded and install. Unistall and reinstall, prefer from windows store.

Hello, I've tried uninstall and resintall from Windows Store but does not work. Could it be a bug in this version? I've also tried 'paste data into a blank table' as a data source, but receive the same error when I try to apply changes.
