Power BI Desktop Analysis Services live connection failure
Hi,
Whenever I try to connect Power BI Desktop to the Analysis Service Cube through a live connection, Power BI automatically switches to the import option instead. Any idea on how to resolve that issue.
Highly appreciate your support!

Hi sherif_assaf,
There are some limitations when using live connection connecting to SSAS Multidimensional Models in Power BI Desktop. SQL server must be running SQL Server 2012 SP1 CU4 or later versions of Analysis Services for the Power BI Desktop SSAS MD connector to work properly, reference: Connect to SSAS Multidimensional Models in Power BI Desktop
Analysis Services Tabular data in Power BI Desktop
Mixing Import and connect Live is not supported, if currently Power BI desktop have data imported (or loaded), then it is not available to perform connect Live to get new data.
Besides, there should be remindings when connecting to the data source, when input the server name and databases, it should show exclamation triangle at the right side of the input box, which would show the connect message.
