Power BI Dashboard Performance

I have built a Power BI dashboard which has 40+ cards, one table, 2 slicers and no visuals. The cards in the dashboard take too long to populate the details when I select a new item/value from the slicers. I know the numbers of cards used in the dasboard are too much but its something my target audtience would like to see in terms of readability.

Is there a way wherein I can improve the performance of the dashboard so that it does not take too long to poplate the details in the cards once I select a new value from the slicer? Just an FYI the size of my .pbix file is 1MB (If that helps)

Hi @Anonymous ,

It seems that you want to improve the performance of Power BI report.

If you data is very large or you use many complex measure, the performance will be slow.

@Anonymous # of visual will surely have impact but it also depends on measure, seems like you don't have any measure used in the report, I guess visuals are the root cause for performance.

Hi @v-piga-msft

Thank you for your response. I am not using any complex measures. Also, the data set I believe is not that large, its 250MB (From a CSV file). I have gone through the links that you mentioned but there wasn't much for me to do in my exisiting file. Does using too many cards detoriate the performance of the dashboard?

Thanks,
Jash.
