Hi all,
today my custom visual made with Charticulator is gone - just blank are where the visual was placed, all fields gone, also charticulator icon is no longer under visuals on the right side panel.
It is pretty important daily report in the company so I would appreciate any comment or solution.
Thanks in advance.

Hi All,
After much trial and error, I have found a way to get the old MS Charticulator visual definitions working with the new Community versions.
Please be aware that there are 2 Community Versions:
It seems that to be able to change the existing Viz from the old MS Charticulator to either of the new Community versions, you need to follow these steps:
This is far from ideal but I have found this works for each of my reports so far.
This is irresponsible act from Microsoft. I really thought using Custom visuals with Microsoft label on it (Microsoft Charticulator) was really safe and stable. Who would have thought that this kind of issue arise, make thing worse, no proper documentation on fallback plan. Imagine some PowerBI developer using 100s visual of Charticulator. Crazy
You can make the community charticulator work on the PBI Desktop version, but it doesn't work on the Power BI service. You can actually make it work in the PBI Service by downloading the editor or the view version and editing the dashboard in a Workspace, but it won't let you save your report, because charticulator is not a supported visual...
Hi! Have you found any solution for this issue? /Indeed, it works fine on PowerBI Desktop. But when I attempt to add the custom visual while editing the report on Service, I encounter an error again.
You will need to save the edited report locally and change the visual to the View version before publishing it. The "view" version is MS Certified.
I followed the steps again, and it works perfectly this way!
Initially, I replaced the old, non-working Charticulator with the new certified one by saving the report as a Project and modifying the JSON file. But this worked locally but didn't work on Service.
However, using the on-object method as you suggested, is much quicker and works perfectly fine on Service as well! Thanks a lot!
My problem was that I had done my first update on the Report JSON file to the Charticulator Editor first but not all the Charticulator charts were named the same, and some didn't change; probably because of some old versions. To fix that, I made some updates on the PBI service to add the view, which seemed easy enough, but at some point my project got confused with two charticulators as a public sources.
The fix, if anyone is dealing with that, was to open the Report JSON on the PBIB project, and first, make sure that charticulatorVisualCommunity_VIEW was the only charticulator instance across the file. Also, made sure that the Public Sources section of the JSON looked like this, and there weren't any conflicting sources:
Thank you very much for keeping us posted on this Nigel!
