Power BI Business Central Report - Refresh Timeout Issue
Hi Fabric Community,
I’m currently facing an issue while working with the Dynamics 365 Business Central connector in Power BI. Until July 16, my dataset consistently refreshed within 20 minutes, both in Power BI Desktop and the Service.
However, after July 16, the same refresh now throws a timeout error, even in Power BI Desktop, before it reaches the service. Below is the full error message:
Power BI Business Central connector is timing out due to API operation-time limits (8 minutes) and large/responsive dataset calls. To fix: apply early OData filters, split or paginate queries, enable incremental refresh, optionally set UseReadOnlyReplica, and disable background query previews.

I got used to with such sort of errors.
Tbh, I am still facing the same at times.
The one and only solution as of now I found is, as your functional (handling Business Central part) to prepare a Query for Customer_Card.
Then follow the steps: -
1. From Power BI Desktop -> Get Data -> Business Central
2. Select the Environment and Company
3. You need to ask the functional to deploy the Query (Customer_Card) into Power BI Query 2.0 Folder.
4. And in the Company Section -> Power BI Query 2.0
5. Ask the exact name of the Query (Customer_Card -- If it's deployed as it is)
6. Load it into Power BI Desktop and you're good to go.
I've personally dealt with such situations over a year and this is the ultimate solution for the same.
