Power BI Account Blocked
Hello Microsoft Community Team,
I am facing a critical issue with my Power BI organization account and urgently need assistance. I have been trying to reach customer support for the past month regarding this account problem, but haven't received a resolution yet.
The Issue:
When attempting to log in to my Power BI account, I receive an error message stating, "This account is blocked."
This is an organization/work account, and I do not have the option or instructions to unblock it on my end.
Because of this, my ongoing daily business operations and reporting are completely stalled. Could someone please guide me on how to get this account unblocked, or connect me with a support representative who can look into this backend block?
Any urgent help would be highly appreciated.
Thank you.
Hi Anand_Singh87,
In this secnario you can reach out to your organization IT administrator who is responsible to manage this tnings. You can directly reach out to him and send the error details you are seeing in the power bi. Your internal IT department controls all backend access, licenses, and security blocks through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center
reaching customer support doesn't help much in this as Microsoft cannot unblock organization accounts directly for individual users. Because this is a work account.Hope this helps, please consider as an accepted solution if helps or give some kudos.
Hi,
Thank you for your help.
The main problem is that I am the admin and owner of this domain, but when I try to log in to the Admin Center account, it shows that the account is blocked. In this case, what can I do to resolve the issue?
I also tried to change the password for the email ID. First, it asks for an OTP sent to the email, and I do receive and enter the OTP successfully. However, after that, it asks me to approve a notification in the Microsoft Authenticator app.
The problem is that I am not using the Authenticator app. I tried installing and using it for login, but the same process keeps repeating — OTP verification followed by an Authenticator notification request. It has become a loop, and I am stuck without any way to access the account.
Please help me understand how I can recover or unblock the account.
Thank you.
Hi Anand_Singh87,
Thanks for the reply, Can you conform if this issue is with the Power BI only or other D365 applications also?
As you are the admin and domain owner of the account, but not able to fix the issue. You can raise the support ticket to microsoft and explain the steps you performed they can assist you with the next steps. You can use D365 Admin center to register the complaint additionally with the fabric/power bi.

Helper I
Hey Anand_Singh87 ,
I understand how frustrating this must be, especially when it's blocking your daily work. A "This account is blocked" error on a work/organization account almost always means the block was applied at the Azure Active Directory (Microsoft Entra ID) level by your IT admin not by Power BI itself.
If You've Been Waiting a Month.
Request your IT admin or a Microsoft partner to escalate the ticket severity to Severity A or B (Critical/High), as standard tickets can linger.
