Hello everyone!
I'm trying to automate the export of a Power BI report to PDF using the "Export to file for Power BI reports" action in Power Automate." However, every time I run the flow, I get the following error:
On the other hand, if I configure it from Power BI, I can create a subscription to convert the file into PDF format:
For reasons, I need to be able to automate it from Power Automate and not directly from Power BI.
Has anyone encountered this error? Any idea what might be missing to configure or if it's a capacity/region/license issue?
Thanks in advance for the help!
Hi @Syndicate_Admin ,
As the others have stated, this is not supported by the PPU license. You need Premium / Fabric capacity to export a set of filtered PDFs via the Power BI + Power Automate route.
If you are open to third-party solutions, see BI Helper https://bihelper.tech. BI Helper is a SaaS application that automates the creation and distribution of PDFs filtered for each end-user. It is secure and scalable, and can be easily set up and managed by business users.
It requires only one Pro or PPU license.
Hi @Syndicate_Admin ,
The method lbendlin provided should be helpful. The export power bi report to file REST API isn’t supported for PPU.

it's a license restriction. PPU is not good enough.
