Possible to freeze floating data?

I have been trying to find a way to freeze data that continually changes. For example a way to show active users last month, and thus have a benchmark to look at in my report. Does PowerBI have such a function? Or is there a workaround without having to do it manually once a month?

    Hi tothemoohn,

     

    In your scenario, a slicer would be a big help. 

    1. Choose a date column for the slicer; 

    2. Click drop arrow, choose "Relative";

    3. Set last 1 month(Calendar).

    4. Save. The report will show up the data of last month.

      Hi v-jiascu-msft,

       

      Thank you for your reply, but it is not quite what I meant. I am looking for a way to get powerbi to remember the amount of user accounts that are active on the 31st of each month. If I put a relative filter on it for last 1 month, I will only see the amount of users that were created in May. 

       

      I am also looking to see how many opportunities that are open at the moment. These change all the time depending on whether they are closed or won, and a filter would not work for these either. Thus, I am looking for a way for powerbi to be able to freeze the amount of users or opportunities on the 31st each month, so that I do not have to put it in manually in my report. 

       

      Is there a way to do this?

        Hi Fred,

         

        Do you mean you want the data for each month, for example, 2017-04-01 to 2017-04-30, 2017-05-01 to 2017-05-31, to count number or sum up? You can get it with a measure. Could you please post a sample here?
