Point two existing reports at one dataset

Good morning,

A report needed cloning for a different audience and required RLS. I've ended up with two identical datasets in different workspaces, one with RLS, one without. Is there a way of pointing both reports to a single instance of the dataset?

I've found some relevant guides but they don't address my situation (one of my own making, admittedly!).

Workspace A
Contains original report/dataset created for internal team who have full access. This is one of many such reports relevant to the team's workspace.

Workspace B
Dataset from Workspace A was cloned for a new stripped down report, RLS applied and published via an app. Workspace B was created manually to ensure there was no chance of inadvertently publishing other reports in the app. Indeed, users are not even aware of the workspaces.

Ideally, I'd like the report from Workspace A to point at the more secure Workspace B dataset, so only one requires refreshing but the internal team would have full access to the tools it provides.

Any ideas would be much appreciated. 🙂

Hi Jay, thank you. That's not quite what I was thinking, but it's given me an idea! The bigger report from workspace A should go in B. I think. 😉

Hi @Anonymous ,

If I understand you correctly, you could just copy the report in workspace B and save it in workspace A.

Please check the document for more details.

Best Regards,
