Plss help!

Hello all,

Could someone suggest whats the best solution for the below scenario.

I have a report which shows sales for every 15 minute intervals (date and time dimensions and the sales is from a measure table). Sometimes it becomes a tedious job scrolling through each date for comparative analysis between the dates as it is at 15 min intervals. One of the reporting tool has grouping option (well that done in SQL) where the users feels very interactive as it groups the data on the option selected showing them sales at 15 min level and higher and they want the same functionality in the Power BI report. I understand there are many posts on custom date range slicer, but wondering if it could be the solution here? We are using live model and the date and time are two different dimensions so no grouping or binning options.

Hi @Anonymous , thanks your suggestion. creating hierarchy - do you mean e..g last 28 days, last year, last month in date dimension and 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours etc in time dimension? would be really helpful if you could provide an example.

thanks

Hi @MP275 ,

Please try the following methods and check if they can solve your problem:

1.Consider creating a hierarchy in the date and time dimensions from hour to specific intervals.

2.Creating the custom date range slicers and select the periods dynamically.

Create a relative date slicer or filter in Power BI - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
