Please help me with hierarchies field parameter workaround

Hello,

I have got items and their respective categories and would like to setup a field parameter to distuinguish that (Cat1 and Cat2) and be visible result for them
I've managed to do that but my problem is that i split Cat column into two separated columns and If i select Cat1, then its ok, but the Cat2 is blank and it also is shows in a matrix/chart (as blank)

Item2	Cat1
Item3	Cat2
Item4	Cat2
Item2	Cat2
