Pivot using Date slicer/parameter
I have a pivot table I created using 2 fields. I would like to use a slicer so a date range can be requested. I dont know if this is possible since a date field is not part of the pivot. I am new to PowerBI so any help is welcomed. Thank you

Anonymous If you have a date column in your model that you wish to slice on, it doesn't need to be on the visual. It all depends on how your model is created, and what kind of relationship have between tables.
in the end, the column you want to slice on doesn't need to be part of the visual.
Anonymous Yes keep the date in the table, create a pivot without the date column, and use the date for filter.
Anonymous It will be easier if you share pbix file using one drive/google drive with the expected output. Remove any sensitive information before sharing.

The data is from a test database. Page 2 has what the final pivot should be. I very much appreciate your help.

- Ensure the date column is present in the data you used to create the pivot. You don’t need to display it in the pivot table, but it needs to be part of the dataset.
- Go to Visualizations, choose Slicer, and drag your date field into it.
This will create a slicer visual that allows you to filter based on a date range.

Thanks for Kedar_Pande and parry2k's replies. What is your current data holdings, can you share your non-sensitive data and what you expect to achieve, if it can be in the form of a picture it will help us to better understand your needs. There may be other ways to realize your requirement.
