Pivot using Date slicer/parameter
I have a pivot table I created using 2 fields. I would like to use a slicer so a date range can be requested. I dont know if this is possible since a date field is not part of the pivot. I am new to ...

- Ensure the date column is present in the data you used to create the pivot. You donβt need to display it in the pivot table, but it needs to be part of the dataset.
- Go to Visualizations, choose Slicer, and drag your date field into it.
This will create a slicer visual that allows you to filter based on a date range.

Thank you for replying. Unfortunately it is not part of the pivot. Thats my issue.
Is there anyway around this? Do I just need to create a separate report and use a parameter? Since I am creating a pivot, I cant use a direct query, so I am not sure how to use a paramter.
