I am trying to build a pie chart visual based on only one column. Apparently, it should be possible, since it is a column with categorical values. It is a calculated column and there are only 3 distinct occur in the column.
To recreate the issue, firstly, I create a pie chart. Then, I drag and drop the column to the Legend field and then I drag and drop the same column to Values field.
Surprisingly, the pie chart is mono-colored and it shows data for only one category (60 occurences). But, as mentioned above, the column has 3 distinct values (according to the "Data" view in Power BI). The Legend also shows, incorrectly, only one category.
In my opinion, the pie chart should be divided into 3 parts that are proportional to the number of occurences of each of the values in the column.
Ok, let's investigate.
Copy the visual and paste it somewhere else on the report canvas. Change the new visual to a table.

Now take a screenshot and post it here. Please select the original pie chart before this so that we can see what fields are selected in the field wells.

If you want to be complete, please supply the sample pbix and I'll have a look
