rl_evans, after you deploy your model in the service, you will need to go to schedule refresh section and specify credentials for each connection used by your model.. it is these credentials that the gateway will use to make connections to data sources.
If you pick Windows authentication, then the credentials that you entered into your Gateway are used to connect.

For Windows auth, where do you enter the credentials for the Gateway? When configuring it, the only credential I enter is the Power BI account. When I go to the relevant Dataset settings, I can select Windows authentication for it, but I can't pick which Windows account. Am I basically "stuck" with the Windows account that the Personal gateway is installed on?
Hi there, I also experience my Power BI credentials got stuck in Data Gateway (Personal) instead of other creads I keep on trying to save under "Data Source Credentials" in Power BI Service...The result is Failed to update data source credentials: The credentials provided for the Web source are invalid.
Have you got a chance to found a solution?
