Performance Analyzer / Dax Studio

Hello All,

Happy New Year!

Some of the tiles in my report are taking too long to render.

I have exported data from Performance Analyzer and imported it into Dax Studio.

I will greatly appreciate suggestions on how to use Dax Studio to optimize queries / displays to improve performance.

Many Thanks,

Pav

Hi @PavBidani ,

I understand that you are experiencing slow rendering of tiles in your report and would like to optimize your queries and displays using Dax Studio.

Here are some tips that can help you improve the performance of your report:

  • Simplify your data model: Reducing the number of calculations and aggregations in your report can help reduce the amount of data that needs to be processed, resulting in faster loading times.
  • Remove unnecessary columns and measures: Removing columns and measures that are not needed in your report can also help reduce the amount of data that needs to be processed, resulting in faster loading times.
  • Optimize your queries: You can optimize your queries in Dax Studio by mitigating the presence of the CallBackDataID if ever they appear in your calculations. This will help improve DAX’s performance in generating accurate data. You can use error handling like ISERROR to catch potential errors before the calculation begins. You can also move filters to a CALCULATE statement and use MIN or MAX instead of date functions like LASTDATE.

These are some of the common causes for having a CallBackDataID and their mitigations .
