Percentage format from '% of grand total' calculation is not retained in excel outputs

Hello,

I am having some trouble with formats in the exports of tables/charts within my PowerBI. These have been built for a client and they have asked if all columns that look like a percent within PowerBI can export to excel in this format. Most %s in my dashboard export okay, but I think the ones that don't are using the '% of grand total' calculation.

I saw an earlier thread: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Service/Excel-Output-from-Service-not-retaining-percentage-format/m... that has a way to force a format, however, the data that I'm using is also used in other places as numbers and it is the calculation being shown that gives it a percentage format so I cannot use this workaround.

Here is an example export (anonymised column headings)

Versus what it looks like in the PBI:

Is there any way to fix this?

Thanks!

Hi @cmaceking ,

It will not keep the visual format when use export to data feature. For example, it will not dispaly the total values in exported file. Please check the screenshot below, the data with the percentage were retained in the exported file...

In addition, please review the following links as below. Later check if they can be used as an workaround.

Analyze in Excel for Power BI Desktop (it is required to have build permission)

Copy and paste a visualization in Power BI
