Pbix files does not open

Hello, 

I'm trying to open a pbix file, but it simply won't load. I get no error message, only below icon:

I've restarted the computer several times, I've also uninstalled and installed PBI again. I've also cleared cache. 

I've also downloaded the same report (same ish, but missing some new data, some new columns, some new graphs) from Service and this one opens up just fine. So I'm guessing the extra work I've been doing in between latest publishing and today has somehow "damaged" the report. I don't want to use the Service version, as this means losing a few days of work. 

Has anyone experienced this and managed to open the report eventually?
