Hi
I am trying to set up a Hybrid table on the model and I need direct query mode for "today' data only
However, when I published to BI service, I found the performance doesn't improve and when I come to tabular Editor, I found there is only one partition here.(Shouldn't it with a few partition tables and 1 is onwarding?)
May I have any advice? Thanks
@lbendlin , I have set up the incemental refresh on the SQL view which is joining 2 different tables.
Would you think that the incremental refresh doesn't applicable to views?
But I can see the partition in the SSMS but not in the tabular Editor. But however, this doesn't improve the performance at all.
Please let me know if you have any idea.
Your partitions are tiny. Incremental refresh is more effective with millions of rows.
My main purpose for creating incremental refresh is, on the report, the users are focusing on Today's data, which I am hoping that using this method to partition only Today's data as "direct query" and "import mode" for the historial data.
Then create your partitions accordingly. One for incremental refresh, and one for "Today". No need for all the granularity.
When you only see one partition that indeed means that your incremental refresh is not set up correctly. There can be many reasons for that so you will need to provide some more details.
