Partition Type 'M' not supported

I am getting this error after doing these things:
1. Create an empty PBIX file
2. Extract the model from it using pbi-tools extract

3. Overwriting the database.json with a model.bim from a SSAS-Project
4. Compiling a pbit file from the modified directory using pbi-tools

5. Opening this pbit file

 

All partitions have a source of type m in the json file.

 

Any ideas?

    Hi eilmrein ,

     

    Based on the error message, it seems that all partitions have a source type "m" in the JSON file, which is not a recognizable partition source type in Power BI. The most common types of partition sources are SQL, Oracle, Text/CSV, and Web.
    You can try:
    1. Modify the partition source type in the JSON file to a recognized partition source type.
    2. Check the model.bim file for corruption.
    3. Try deleting and recreating the partition in Power BI.
    4.Try creating a new Power BI report and importing the model into it.
    Also, make sure that you have followed the correct steps to modify and compile the pbit file using pbi-tools. Double-check that the modified JSON file is saved correctly and that the pbit file is compiled correctly.

    Hi,
    When I export a model from Power BI using Tabular Editor (2.17.3) I get the following partition definition for a table:

    When I use this file instead of the one taken from SSAS, everything works as expected.
    Looks like there is a versioning conflict somewhere....
    The SSAS model is CompatibilityLevel 1500 whereas the Power BI exported file is 1567

    The partitions definition in the SSAS bim-file looks like this:

    Hi, I have come accross with the same issue. getting error . I extracted SSAS model using Tablar Editor. I converted Model.bim file to .PBIT file. Now opening it on Power BI giving me below error. plz help
