Parent Child SKU Sales Roll-up/Aggregation HELP NEEDED

Hi Everyone,

Really stumped by this one,

The objective is to create a parent sku to child sku hierarchy in PowerBI, where the parent sku is the current active sku, while child sku is the phased out sku. The idea is to have phased out sku's historical sales fall in and merge with the current active (parent sku) sales.

Here is the table structure I have right now, Item Dimension table connected to sales and purchasing table 1 to *

I want to create one view where my end user can see historical sales of the Parent SKU and identify how much more inventory we need based on the sales those historical sales.

I have tried query merge and different measures, have also created hierarchy to calculate roll-ups but no result thus far.

consider the snap below please,

SKU DHB5603f1210-SPE is the parent SKU (new sku with no historical sales ) its child sku ( phased out SKU) has 522K historical sales, which I want to roll into the table with green columns.

however, when I click the corresponding line on the table the small table with Parent Child linetotal, complete blanks, out (ideally should filter to the child SKU sales. I am pretty certain I am making a rookie mistake somewhere but it would be amazing to get some help here guys,

any guidance, anything to read up on would be super helpful, can provide more information on the model as needed, all i want is to have sales rolled up parent sku and then to be able to filter as approporiate which should be fairly trivial as i dont see any issues with the direction of the filters.

Thanks Everyone,

That's not a hierarchy, it is a slow changing dimension.

Please provide sanitized sample data that fully covers your issue. If you paste the data into a table in your post or use one of the file services it will be easier to work with. Please show the expected outcome.

hi, thank you for reply.

the expected outcome is highlighted in yellow in the attached screenshot, i cant share the exact model but what do you need
