Parameters missing dropdown for Paginated Report in the local after downloaded from WS.

Hi All,

I have Power BI paginated Reports running well in the Power BI Workpaces.

After I downloaded them and ran in my own PC, the Paramters all missed dropdown.  I couldn't select the paramer to view the reports in my local.

But If I repulished the reports to another WS, the paramters work good again.

I am using the latest Power BI Report Builder. I checked there's no any special setting there.

There 's no such issue before.

Does anyone has such issue?

Thank you so much for any suggestions and input!

Best

    Hi MZBI ,

This behavior where parameter dropdowns disappear when running the paginated report locally but work fine in the Power BI Service is usually related to how parameter values are being populated. If a parameter’s available values come from a dataset (especially MDX-based), the dropdown may not appear locally if that dataset doesn’t execute successfully in Report Builder. This often happens due to invalid local data source credentials, unsupported query features, or dependent datasets that fail silently. I’d recommend checking each parameter’s Available Values setting and confirming that its dataset runs successfully in Report Builder. If the dataset uses MDX, try converting it to DAX or T-SQL, as MDX can behave differently in the local environment. Also, verify your data source credentials and ensure any cascading parameters have valid or default values. These checks usually restore missing parameter dropdowns when running locally.

  • MZBI I'm using the most recent version and no issue at my end. I do see the parameters and drop-down to select values.

  • MZBI, maybe if possible, try it on another machine to rule out any machine specific issue.
