Parameters being ignored in PBI report builder

So I'm playing around with report builder at the moment, but I'm noticing that parameters are being ignored when I'm creating tables etc.

I'm using a power bi dataset, then adding orderId as a parameter to hone in one a specific order ID (or a group of). I use the 'select from query' feature to create a drop down list. But when I select one it still lists all order ID's and I can't figure out why? There's no error message it just doesn't behave as I expect.

I'm aware that 'not all data sources support parameters' but thought a power bi dataset may be able to.

Has this come up before and were there any solutions?
