Creating a parameter based on field values works well in a main dataset. Then a slicer is automatically created and I could for example select between field Country or Product in the slicer, and show a graph for each category seperately.
If I try and access that parameter from a lean report (only report content with connection to the main dataset), then I would need to create the slicer, manually this time. Since the original slicer is just available in the report of the main dataset. If I simply select the parameter field, and chose slicer as visual type, it shows the parameter field values, but using the parameter in a graph, then each category Country and Product will not be shown. So it doesn't work.
When I try to create a parameter in a lean report, a report which is connected to a dataset, then a mixed model is the result, which then will not work to be uploaded to the Power Bi service.
So it seems I need to create the parameter in the main dataset, then be able to use it in the lean report.
Thanks for support,
Daniel

Hi @1up ,
I understand that you are facing difficulties in Power BI Desktop.
Could you please tell me if that the "Parameters Field" you mentioned is actually "Field parameters" feature?
If so, as the limitation from the official document said, you can't create parameters in live connection data sources without a local model. However, if you use DirectQuery for Power BI datasets and Analysis Services, you can add a local model to create field parameters.

Any input would be helpful. Will try to install latest PBI Desktop version, perhaps it is a bug when creating a slicer visual from a field parameter.
