PPSX Slide Show Mode in PBI

My PBI report has a link to a PPSX file. When the PPSX opens it should go right into the Slide Show mode however, it opens in edit mode. When I test the file in a non-PBI environment it does open in Slide Show mode. Therefore, I know this issue is with PBI and perhaps a feature I'm not aware of. Has anyone had this issue?

I can't say for certainty this is the solution but I changed the ppsx file to a mp4 file and it worked.

Anonymous , have you defined it as a web URL and it opening in a new window?

like https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/power-bi-hyperlinks-in-tables

  Thanks for the response. The PPSX file is indeed a URL link. The PPSX file does open in a new window, however, it opens in "Editing View" versus "Slide Show". I'd like it to open in Slide Show.

Hi Anonymous

Did you put the file on Office online? If so, you can grant view access to the file when you get the link. Only users with edit permission can open this file with Edit mode.

  I can't say for certainty this is the solution but I changed the ppsx file to a mp4 file and it worked.
