POwerBI Jira refresh data

Hi guys,

I connected JIra and PowerBI using basic credentials. On PowerBI desktop everything works, no issues. When I refresh data, it retrieves new data, however, when I publish prepared report and then refresh data in Powerbi web, the report becomes empty.

powerbi desktop:

powerbi web:

I checked my credentials, they are absolutely identical. Any ideas how to fix this issue?

    Hi Ausar!

We've built an app for Jira and Power BI integration: Power BI Connector for Jira.

I'll post our Guide "Schedule a refresh on Power BI Service"

    1. Export data into Power BI Desktop, create the reports or dashboards you need and save your file.

    2. Select Publish, and then select Sign in with your Power BI Service account (if you are not signed in).

    3. Select a workspace where you’d like to publish your report or dashboard, and then select Select.

    4. After successful publishing, you may review your report by clicking on the link or by going directly to your Power BI Service.
    5. Select Workspaces, and then select the workspace where you published your report or dashboard.

    6. In front of your published report or dashboard, select Schedule refresh.

    7. If it’s required, expand the Gateway and cloud connections section and set up a gateway connection according to your specific needs.

If you don’t have a gateway installed, please follow the guide Download and install a standard gateway. You may use on-premises data gateway or on-premises data gateway (personal mode). Please find more details here.

If you need assistance in configuring the gateway, please contact your Network administrator.

You may also refer to this article for additional information - Add or remove a gateway data source.

         8. [Optional] Select Edit credentials.

If you experience one of the errors: Failed to test the connection to your data source. Please retry your credentials or Data source can’t be refreshed because the credentials are invalid. Please update your credentials and try again, follow the steps below.

         9. In the Authentication method field, select Basic.

        10. In the User name, enter your Jira username.

        11. In the Password field, enter your Jira password.

        12. Select Sign in.

        13. Expand the Refresh section, and then turn it on.

        14. Select refresh frequency and time zone, and then select Add another time.

        15. Configure the time you need, and then select Apply.

Now your data set will be refreshed according to the configured schedule.

    Hope this helps,

    Daria

Try checking the filter setting in Power BI service for the report. Also, check if the report is working in your workspace when refreshed or not.

      Will check filters

As soon as I refresh the data

My tables become empty. I think it kind of  resets credentials? But if it resets credentials why then it is filled?

Try to upload it in your workspace and then refresh to check if it is working there or not. Further, when you upload on the service check if the highlighted icon is there if yes click on it and check if the report is still blank or not
