PL-300 Desktop & Services
Morning everyone!
Currently I am the ony person in Canada piloting Power BI for the company I work for (there's a small team in our head office in the UK) but they have removed the ability to use Power BI Desktop in conjuction with Power BI Services (security reasons apparently), I can use each seperately if I wanted to but I cannot upload anything from Desktop to Service which I am slowly discovering (as I only started working with Power BI in the last 3 weeks) that there are things I WANT to do, but cannot pull them off with Services.
I'm hoping I could get some insight to what the pro's and con's are with just using Services and not Desktop + Services (besides not being able to work along the training of course) which I could go back and plead my case to why I need to be able to use both and not be limited to just one.
I have already seen that there are things I want to be able to do that can't be done in Services but I could do in Desktop but those are tiny compared to Desktop having a greater range of options than Services.
Hope that makes sense.
TLDR. I hate limitations when you want to create extrodinary work and need your help explaining to IT why those limitations need to be removed. 😆

Sounds like our biggest issue will be the limitations of Pro vs Premium (which we are not getting). So things like DAX and other features also exist in Power BI Services? The biggest differencce is, If your computer can't handle Power BI Desktop everything should still be available in Services?
