PBI Desktop stuck forever on 'Loading data to model' step

Hi!

When loading changes from Porwer Query or trying to refresh data, PBI stucks forever on the 'Loading data to model' step...

This started to occur in a moment... I mean, I hadn't made any installation, upgrade, ec of PBI or any other software.

At first, I though it happenned because there was too many queries in Power Query (like 200), but I've checked that it happens now even with a new file when trying to load an empty query.

I've tried to clear the caches, deactivate all options about creating automatic realtionships, re-installing it, installing older versions and don't know what else to try.

As I said, this happens now to all my pbix, even a new one with an empty query.

Any suggestion will be very welcome since I'm starting to lose my mind! πŸ˜•

Thanks in advanced!! πŸ™‚

  • Anonymous there is a new infrastructure option in the option and settings, can you try to turn that off  or vice versa.

      Thank for your response parry2k!

That is the feature about the future implementation of WebView2, isn't it?
I've already tried to uncheck the option, to reinstall WebView2 again or even remove it completely, but it keeps stuck loading data... πŸ˜•

  • Anonymous very weird, can you manually enter data in power query and then load it. Seems like something specific to your machine. Any AV is causing this?

parry2k , everything seem to work fine on the PowerQuery side (it evaluates, processes and shows complex queries, get data from online and local sources and so). I've tried with empty queries and tables created manually and the issue is the same, blocked when applying the changes.

PowerQuery seems to work fine when using it whit Excel and loads the changes.
As antivirus, I'm only using the Windows antivirus...

        Hi Anonymous ,

I have a test by add Query in Enter data in 2.100.1182.0 64-bit version (latest version), it works well.

What data source are you trying to connect to?

PowerQuery seems to work fine when using it whit Excel and loads the changes.

Do you mean that Power BI Desktop could load data successfully when you connect to Excel?

Please download the latest desktop version and try agian.

        Best Regards,
        Rico Zhou

Hi there - just wondering if you manage to resolve / determine root cause? As I think I am experiencing something similar. Out of the blue, nothing is refreshing anymore πŸ˜«
