Hi,
I have recently upgraded to the May version of PBI Desktop (2.46.4732.581 64-bit).
My .pbix file is created in DirectQuery mode, its datasource is an MS SQL database.
My file was created in a previous version (perhaps March or April), it opened fine in the May version, however after saving in the May version I am now unable to re-open the file, receiving the error "We weren't able to restore the saved database to the model".
I have researched the issue and the solution seems to be to uninstall and re-install a previous version. However - 1. I cannot locate a previous version, and 2. I have saved the file in the May version so I have doubts a previous version would see the file as compatible.
Has anyone encountered this issue with the May release and are aware of a solution? Or am I going to have to rebuild my entire report file? This seems to be a reoccurring issue with PBI updates - and causes hours upon hours of work to be lost!
Thanks
Hi
Did anyone find a solution to this? I am also facing the same problem. I am on the latest version of Power Bi and I have tried to download the pbix file from the service but still have the issue.
Thanks!
Amy

Hi,
The newest version of PBI Desktop is 2.46.4732.721 64-bit (May 2017). Please upgrade to the newest version.
Maybe there is another way you can try. But I am not sure if it will work.
Best Regards!
Dale
Hi @PJW_TMD
I have checked in my system it is working fine.

Thanks
