Overtime Calculations...? STUMPED!
well explained, basically these are the business rules:
1. Daily work more than 8 hours is treated as overtime
2. Sum of hours in a week (week = monday to sunday) > 40 hours will be treated as overtime
Is this correct understanding?
As I always request, drop some data in excel sheet, it will help.
That's kind of the jist.
Table = WEEK
Date | Hours | OT
Monday 7.50
Tuesday 8.33
Wednesday 9.1
Thursday 6.79
Friday 7.40
Saturday 0
Sunday 0
In the above example, even though the employee went over 8 hours on two days, technically, did not work any overtime because the total amount of hours is less than 40, at 39.12.
It's like ONLY if the total is greater than 40, then the days over 8 are overtime.
