Overlaying a line graph onto a scatter plot with transparency
HI guys,
TOTALLY new to Power BI. I have very little experience and have self taught with a few hours of fiddling!
I want to create a line chart that is overlayed onto a scatter plot to compare student performance versus national average data.
I struggled using any of the preset visulatisations but stumbled across the transparency option for the background.
I then decided I could overlay one visualisation over another, maintain the aspect ratios and start and end points of the graphs and they would snap neatly on top.
However, this is not the case.
Even with messing around and turning x and y axis labels etc off, I cannot seem to get them to align?! you cant quite see it but it isn't accurate. some of the x axis labels will not match up!
Any tips or advice would be greatfully received.
In the long run, I want to be able to filter the graph by class and subject to allow fellow teachers to be able to SEE their class' performance.

Anonymous why you want to overlay the line chart, why not use measure on analytical tab to show the line?

Thanks for responding.
Unfortunately this is not possible. At least I don't think so. The data is in a different tab in the original excel doc and is not the raw data, its a standalone government issued average based on all students in the country. It is not in the se format.
I want to plot the students in my school on a scatter versus the national average.
Does that make sense?
Analytics only works out the average of the data in my set. It doesn't let me pre determine the average does it?
