Overall Power BI use

Hello everyone... I'm in the evaluation mode for Power BI & have a few questions concerning overall use.  I've watched a couple of videos & looked through the internet.  Figured it might be a good thing to reach out to the knowledge base of current users.

We are looking at Power BI to replace some aging technologies (BzO & Crystal Reports).  PBI seems pretty robust.

Our scenario:

Medium sized company not an enterprise... Premium is way to expensive for us.

Local DB using Business Objects & crystal reports 

We email reports to users as necessary.

What we’re trying to accomplish with Power BI

• Write reports & dashboards against a local DB
• Email reports to users as necessary
• Have access to reports on the web… both mobile & desktop access

Questions based off of needs

• Can I give a date / time to email reports from PBI (Say Wednesday at 2pm)?
• Will the desktop version get users access or do we need Power BI for all who access reports/dashboards?
• Will I need to setup a data gateway to “refresh” reports as data changes?
  • Can I schedule the refresh timeline?
