Hi all,
We are about to create a new Oracle data warehousing solution and just wanted to check with the community that Power BI connects to Oracle version 18c (18.3) okay?
Thanks!
Hi @cboersema ,
We are about to create a new Oracle data warehousing solution and just wanted to check with the community that Power BI connects to Oracle version 18c (12.2.0.2) okay?
I have a little confused about your requirement.
Base on your description, it seems that (12.2.0.2) is the version for Oracle 12c.
If you want to use Oracle 18c, there are two versions 18.3 and 18.4 , so which one do you want?
Best Regards,
Cherry
Thank for the reply!
Sorry for the mistype... 18.3.
We ended up getting connected but not without some effort:
- Not using store version but advanced download web version
- Using a long string for the server connection name not initially found in documentation but on another posts
- Having to reinstall Power BI AFTER installing oracle client for client to be recognised
Shouldn't really be that difficult. Haven't had this much difficulty with other tools.
Thanks again for the reply.
