Dear sirs,
We have created reports for countries, of which we have received zip code data. In these reports, we run two maps:
These maps uses a lot of RAM, when loading and when using them. The idea with both maps, is to use the "dotted" map to click on, and the Filled Map will show the area. Some countries have up to 10.000 zip codes. Whenever we open these reports, or when we use them, everything gets a bit "laggy".
Is there somehow to boost the performance in these reports, or is the only way to upgrade the RAMs in the computer?
I know that the connection between PowerBI and Bing takes some time, since it has to get the data elsewhere, and it is not stored in PowerBI (atleast what I heard).
Thanks in advance for your assistance 🙂

Hi @Anonymous ,
If it is convenient, you can add latitude and longitude to dotted map.
Because for maps (bubble, scatter, and dot plot maps), if latitude and longitude are provided, then no data is sent to Bing. Otherwise, any data in the Location bucket is sent to Bing.
Filled maps require a field in the Location bucket; even if latitude and longitude are provided. Whatever data is in the Location, Latitude, or Longitude bucket is sent to Bing.
If it has lots of polygons in your filled map, it will hinder the speed. Also consider if you have complex measure in the size field, it will slow down the visual and can be optimized.
