cwilliams Are you using Direct Query? I don't know if the option gets pushed to the Service, but in the Desktop - Options - Global - DirectQuery - there is a checkbox for "Allow unrestricted measures in DirectQuery mode" - I can't find where I read this, but by default complex DAX queries are disabled or restricted I believe... maybe checking this and pushing the data set again will resolve?
