Open Two Dataset Power BI

Hello everyone,

 

Open Two Dataset Power BI

 

Step 1 : 

I open my first dataset (it's file excel convert to Dataset PBI)  : OK

 

 

 

Setp 2 : 

But when i would like open the second dataset ( dataset generate with app PBI), does not work, options is desactived.

 

 

I tried to reverse setp 1 and 2.

 

If, you have a solution for me, thanks you

    Hi Anonymous 

    Having two datasets combined into one model is a Preview feature. You'll need to go to "File, Options and Settings, Options, Preview Features, set the option "DirectQuery for PBI datasets and AS" on, restart Power BI Desktop and you should be able to have a composit Datamodel (two or more Datasets in one Datamodel) I've blogged about it here. Power BI Composite models – what’s the big deal ? | Burningsuit

      Hello Burningsuit,

       

      "Option "DirectQuery for PBI Datasets and AS" was already activated.

       

      I tried to active and desactive : NOK

    Hi  Anonymous  ,

     

    If you are using Live Connection mode to connect to the SSAS/Power bi dataset, Power BI will not allow you to connect to another dataset, so the above option will be disabled.

      Hello Anonymous 

      It's very strange

       

      Because when i open two dataset who are created via API PBI using Postman it works (with option DirectQuery activeted).

       

      But when i importe Excel file since Powerbi.com 

       

      and i'm going on Power Bi desktop, and i witch to open my excel file with dataset (create with API) does not works

      Option is desactived

    Hi  Anonymous  ,

    What connection mode are the two data sources in your PBIX file, Direct Query or Live Connection.

    Your question is saying:

    1. One data set is imported, but the other data set cannot be loaded.

    2. Or, two data sets are loaded into it, but can open only one data set to another data set can not expand.

    If you are free:

    Can you take a screenshot of the lower right corner of Power bi desktop to see which connection mode it is
