Hi together,
I have a use case where I want to open a specific Power BI Desktop (.pbix) file from a website.
Use case:
A user is on a website where different reports are located. At the moment the user can open the report as a individual development and have a look at pre-definied analysis, or as a pdf or as an excel. Some users now want to build their own reports with Power BI Desktop.
What I am thinking about is a fouth button on the website where I can start Power BI Desktop from. This button will always open the same .pbix file and store the actual data as an Excel file in a pre-defined folder. Theh user will now refresh the data manually from that Excel file and start working.
My questions is now: Do you know a solution (with PowerShell) where I can start a Power BI Desktop file from a website?
*We don´t want to work with Power BI Service in the first instance.
Thank you very much and best regards,
Alex
Hi , @Anonymous
Based on my research, similar functions( open a specific Power BI Desktop (.pbix) file from a website) are not supported currently.
You can come up with a new idea and add your comments there to make this feature coming sooner.
