One slicer replace other slicers - different queries/columns

Hello,

In our database you can fill in the names of employees at three different places. For the data I have to run three different reports.
I'm looking for an option to create one slicer which give the same result in the other slicers. Is this possible in PowerBi?

Greetz,

Gerben

    Indeed. There is a relationship.

I think I should go for merging. Was hoping for another option but it doesn't seem to exist in PowerBI.

    Thx anyway

    Hi Gerben,

Try creating a table of the unique Employees and EmployeeIDs and load this data to Power BI. Then create relationships in your Power BI data model from this unique Employee table to the three different tables that store Employees.

You can then create a slicer from the Unique Employees table and this will filter all 3 of the others.

Thanks for your reply. For this I can also use the option Merge Queries.
I meaned when there are also connections between table 1 -> table 2 and table 3. Multiple active connections aren't allowed.
DoI have to use Lookup instead of connections?

        hi GerbenvdHazel

Do you mean that you have created the relationship between these three tables(table 1 -> table 2 and table 3)?

If so, when you do a filter on slicer table1, table2 and table3 will be filtered too.

If not, you could use a dim table Employee and then create the relatinship as Standish provided.

or merge these these tables by Employee ID column.

        Regards,
