hi,
I have a strange behavior in our Power BI environment.
For some of the reports, when we use On Prem gateway - the refresh process completes successfully, but no data is shown in the power bi dashboard.
when we change to personal gateway and refresh - the data is shown fine for the same report.
does anyone know what might be the issue?
The BI itself is very simple. it uses only one CSV file, with no more than 1000 records.
Thank you in advance!
Yuval
Hi @yuvalpi -This problem is likely related to differences in file access path, permissions, or configuration between the Personal and On-Premises gateways. By systematically checking the above areas, you should be able to identify the root cause. Once identified, make the necessary adjustments to your On-Premises Data Gateway configuration.
On-Premises Data Gateway are correctly configured. It's possible that the gateway is connected to an incorrect or outdated file path, especially if the CSV file is stored on a local machine or network drive.
If the CSV file is stored on a network drive, ensure that the On-Premises Data Gateway has the necessary network access to reach the file. Network restrictions might be preventing the gateway from accessing the file.

Hope the above information helps.

Hi rajendraongole1,
Thank you for your answer. but I am afraid this is not the case.
in the meanwhile i created a similar Dashboard with the same data from a scratch Power BI.
This one works well, and the On Prem refresh copletes as expected. So it's something in the original file. Is there anything that I can check within the file that might cause this issue?
Thank you
Hi @yuvalpi - Ok, can you also double-check the data source settings in Power BI Service for the original report. Ensure that the data source is mapped correctly in the On-Premises Gateway and that the correct file path or server location is being used.If possible, try to simplify the dataset or re-import the data to see if this can resolves the issue.last you can verify the credentials for the On-Premises Gateway are correctly configured and have the necessary permissions to access the data source.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
Already did all of this before re-creating from scratch.
will continue to investigate if there is something odd in the original file.
thank you,
Yuval
FIne, Lets see!
Hope the file path is network drive and configurations are placed correct.
Thank you

Hi,
Sorry, but that didn't help.
we think it is something to do with the file itself, because we recreated the report on a fresh new file and it works as expected.
thank you,
Yuval
