On-Prem HTML Viz not displaying anymore

I have custom code HTML visuals in my on-prem (through VM government server) version of PowerBI. I previously was able to see the HTML visuals, but now they are completely blank until I upload them to the Report Server. I have tried adjusting settings, re-importing different versions of the HTML visual, etc. but none of that has worked. Any suggestions?

Hi @sophietitle

This sounds like a system-level issue on the government VM side. I’d suggest reaching out to your IT team first — they should check if any recent security updates, browser policies, or server settings are blocking local HTML rendering.

Also, make sure your Power BI Desktop version matches the Report Server version — mismatches often cause visuals to behave unexpectedly.

If nothing helps, open a support ticket with Microsoft. It might be a deeper issue related to the security sandbox or rendering engine in your environment.
