Using Snowflake and DirectQuery. Previously the file has opened in powerbi desktop and the data model updated without issue. The file was published to power bi service. Data refresh on PBI Service failed today.
This error message now occurs when attempting to open the powerbi desktop file "OLE DB or ODBC error: [Expression.Error] We couldn't fold the expression to the data source. Please try a simpler expression..". We get the option to report the issue or cancel, then the file does not open - so there is no way to fix any query folding issues.
The error message is occuring on this version and all previous versions we have saved of the report in our archive.
Any assistance on how to open the file would be appreciated.

Thanks @amitchandak, I appreciate the response and link. I'm confident to be able to fix the folding issue once we get access to the file, unfortunately once the error message appears, the only options are report and cancel. The file does not open.
This blog is quite helpful.
According to the blog, I created a View to resolve the problem.
Thanks!
