Hi,
I wonder have anyone encountered this issue.
I am trying to connect my Power BI desktop with SAP HANA connection to build reports for my client.
I have connected to the VPN correctly, downloaded the drivers needed (in this case HANA driver, ODBC, and JDBC), used the correct server and port.
When I'm trying to connect, after I keyed in server and port, I got this error message:
Details: "ODBC: ERROR [08S01] [SAP AG][LIBODBCHDB DLL][HDBODBC] Communication link failure;-10709 Connection failed (RTE:[89009] Socket connect timeout (15000 ms) (xxxxxxx:xxxx))"
Is this error related to VPN? or port? or something else?
Thank you.

Hi @applicate ,
You might want to start by checking the firewall settings and ensuring that the port number is correct. If the issue persists, reviewing the VPN configuration and verifying the driver installation would be the next steps.

Thank you for the reply @amitchandak ,
I have looked into the links given, however the error still persists.
By "Permission issue" that you mentioned, does this mean that the SAP HANA side prevents me from connecting with the server? If yes, meaning that I need to contact SAP HANA person in charge and ask them to have a look?
