Not showing duplicate left-side columns in a table

I have a simple table to display in a BI Report, but I can't figure out how to do something.

The table is Vendor, Invoice Date, Payment Terms, Amount

The problem is that the Vendor Name may be there several times in the data, and I only want to see it once on the first row, kind of like this . . .

VENDOR    Invoice Dt.  Terms    Amount

FedEx     01/23/2023   Net 30  $285.34

          02/12/2023   Net 60  $374.12

Microsoft 02/03/2023   Net 30  $672.98

Netsuite  04/12/2023   Net 60  $187.23

          04/12/2023   Net 60  $821.23

Samsung   05/05/2023   Net 30  $921.76

TOTAL                        $2,340.90

All I want to do is show the Vendor Name only once.  Might there be a way of doing that?  Please let me know.

Click the down arrow on the date field and switch from hierarchy to date:

Have you tried using the matrix visual?

Okay, that's going to work, but I can't figure out how to keep the date as an actual date (mm/dd/yyyy) rather than year, quarter, month, day.  I set that format in column tools, but when I added the date, it still set the date hierarchy.  I'm not sure how to fix that.  Any suggestion?

Click the down arrow on the date field and switch from hierarchy to date:

  • Yes, but the matrix visual only allows one left-side column, and as you can see I have two additional text columns that a Matrix won't allow me to add.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. I was able to achieve this result:

  • Yes, I created a matrix, added the vendor Name and the amount, but when I tried to add the Invoice Date and Terms, BP put a plus sign (or down arrow) to the left of the Vendor Name and the user would have to click that to see the Invoice Date and then another click to see the terms.  What you did looks like what I need.  How did you do that?

You need to click the "expand hierarchy" arrows until you're at the lowest level:

And then see my previous screenshot from the formatting pane.

  • Oh I think I see . . .  on the Row options in your screen capture.  I'll try that.  Thank you so much.  I'll come back and let you know how it worked out.
