If you are acessing a semantic model on the service you won't be abble to change any of the data meaning adding columns or changing relationships.

To update this you need to do it in the original semantic model that will allow you to make the edit of all you need.

 

If you want take the base semantic model to create a new one then you cannot download it from the service since it will always be connected to the semantic model publish.
