Not all values are distinct

I'm creating a map with the ESRI map tool in power BI and I've imported the excel file sheet with the latitude and longitude coordinates.  I have around 17,000 rows. each with a corresponding coordinate (X and Y coordinates).  However, only a little more than 3,148 points are mapped out.

It says that my Latitude column has only 7,893 distinct values and Longitude has 3,148 distinct values.

What could be the issue?  I would like to have all 17,000 points mapped out.  The area I am mapping the points onto is in the Upper West region of Ghana.

  • Hi bzebib,

Did you check if they are distinct? It's easy. It seems good in my test of 10000 points.

      Hi Dale,

I was able to identify that there were several values that were the exact same coordinate number.  Therefore, I believe the number of distinct values decreased because there were many number that were the same.
